Robotics, Team 1503 is part of Westlane Secondary
School's FIRST Robotics Program. Students in our program
range anywhere from Grade 9 to Grade 12, ages 13 to 19.
We are based out of Niagara
Falls, Ontario, Canada
" F.I.R.S.T." is an acronym that stands for “For Inspiration
and Recognition of Science and Technology”. FIRST is a non-profit organization
that was founded by Dean
Kamen (inventor of the
famous
Segway) in 1989. There are 37 regional
events around the world and a championship
event that is held
annually in Atlanta, GA. FIRST is run by professionals, gracious volunteers,
and mentors. The FIRST Robotics Competition is truly much more than the mechanics
of building a robot or winning a competitive event. The program inspires students
in the field of science and technology to teach them essential skills like...
Gracious
Professionalism.

this website you can keep up with current events
involving our team, as well as take a look at
breathtaking photos and videos of competitions
and other organized events.
If
you look at our website banner, you'll see our mascot,
designed by the webpage and animation team in late 2004.
Spartek is an animated version of your school mascot,
the Spartan. The sigma symbol on his shield represents
our team motto: "The sum of all inspiration".
As a team we strive up to add all the inspirational
opportunities to become the best we can be.
Since 2005, Team 1503 has achieved a variety of awards
from judges, competitions, and other FIRST
teams around the world. These achievements can be seen
in our 'Achievements' section under our 'Team' tab.
Every year, Spartonics' web team works together to design
the website to ensure a fresh new look with new content
updated periodically.
